FAQ's

SOME QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE

WHAT ARE YOUR FEES?

My pay rate for private individual sessions are $120 for 45 minutes. Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, you have the right to receive a “good faith estimate” explaining how much your medical/mental, and any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services will cost before you schedule your service.

DO YOU OFFER A SLIDING SCALE?

Yes. I do have a few sliding scale spots available for those who cannot afford my normal rate.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?

Yes. I accept a range of insurance plans. Truss Holistic Therapy, LLC have partnered with Mindful Therapy Group (MTG) for scheduling and billing. We will file your claim to make the insurance process as easy as possible. If you do not have health insurance, I offer competitive self-pay rates. Paying out-of-pocket is a great option for people who want maximum privacy, confidentiality, and flexibility.

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

We can talk during a 15 minute free phone call to discuss what’s going on and if I can be of service to you. I reserve a few time slots each day for these phone calls. Please call (775) 902-8300 or email intake@MindfulSupportServices.com to schedule an appointment.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING A FREE CONSULTATION?

This is a casual conversation where we get to know each other a bit. Some questions that I like to ask during this time include:

  • What brings you to therapy?
  • Have you gone to therapy before? How did that go?
  • What goals would you like to reach by going to therapy?

You can ask me questions as well. You might be curious about about my approach, what a session will be like, etc. The most important part of the consultation is that you feel I’m a good fit for you. If so, then we can scheule a time to either meet virtually or in person.

CAN WE MEET IN PERSON?

Yes. In partnership with Mindful Therapy Group, LLC, I offer both telehealth and in-person services. Call (775) 902-8300 to schedule an appointment.

HOW OFTEN WOULD WE MEET?

Ideally, we would meet weekly to build momentum toward progress. However, this is not always possible for everyone. If that is the case, we can discuss meeting every other week.

HOW LONG CAN I EXPECT TO BE IN THERAPY?

It is generally recommended to commit to weekly sessions for the first 2 to 3 months, as it may take the first few sessions just getting a detailed history and thorough assessment of what is going on. Every person and every therapist's style is different. The bottom line is, I'm here to help in whatever way I can. I understand that the best way to do this is to establish a trusting relationship over time, and to mutually put in the effort and commitment to make lasting change in your life.

HOW EARLY SHOULD I COME TO MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?

We recommend you come at least 15 minutes prior to your first appointment, so you have time to fill out any applicable intake forms, and take a look at the new client agreements and policies.

HOW DO YOU KEEP MY INFORMATION SAFE?

I take your privacy seriously and am committed to keeping your Protected Health Information (PHI) safe, in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Please take a look at our Notice of Privacy Practices.

HOW LONG WILL I NEED THERAPY?

I believe in healthy termination. This looks different for everyone, but in general, when the client and I decide together that the issues have resolved or symptoms have lessened and become more manageable. Ideally, you will feel equipped to handle whatever it is that brought you here, and can space out your appointments or come back when you need help again.

CAN I CALL AND/OR EMAIL YOU WHEN I NEED TO TALK?

Please note that email is an unsecure way of transmitting personal information, unless you are using a password protected and encrypted email. In addition, I am here for you during your scheduled appointment. Any additional time in excess of 5 minutes per week may be billed at case management rates. There are exceptions to this in the case of emergency or crisis.

WHAT IF YOU'RE SICK OR ON VACATION AND I NEED HELP?

As soon as I know I am unable to see you for your scheduled appointment for any reason, I will call you and let you know. I will alert you to any days off or vacations with notice when possible and may appoint a backup provider to handle urgent needs during my time off. You can also call my administrative team at (775) 902-8300 with any urgent needs and they will deliver your message appropriately. If you are in crisis and unable to reach me, I recommend calling the Crisis Text Line at (866) 4-CRISIS (866-427-4747) or reporting to the nearest emergency room.
